Day 3 and time to visit the old and new Collective Aid warehouses where stock includes industrial kitchen equipment, ready to be mobilised quickly if numbers on the streets increase (as has happened before), tents, sleeping bags and blankets, clothes and more. Not to mention two pallets of 3XL waterproofs!
In the afternoon I braved navigating the bus into Belgrade (without mobile data) to meet Andgela of Serbian aid group Refugees Foundation Serbia who focus on providing education opportunities for young refugees in Serbia. Andgela told me all about their excellent work supporting two more remote camps - one for unaccompanied minors and the other a family camp. At each they help the children integrate into school, helping them with language, homework and more. What’s not to love about this amazing work!?
